I have been photographing Families and Children in Boise now for over 4 years, (before that I was in Northern California doing portraits for 30+ years). I absolutely love the Fall Colors, the Whites of Winter Snow and the beautiful colors that Spring and Summer bring. They are all beautiful for backgrounds in outdoor Family portraits as well as for Children and pets too. Here are some samples of pictures I have done this last year.

About The Locations in Boise, Meridian and Eagle Idaho for Family and Children Portraits

In Boise in the Spring, one of the most colorful locations is the LDS Temple on Cole road. This is a gorgeous location for photographing smaller groups of children's portraits or couples or children by their selves. It's an ideal location to do portraits prior to baptism when they are all dressed up. This location can also be used for smaller Family portrait groups. The gardener at this location is so talented. I have visited with him many times and found out that they plant some 10,000 tulip bulbs every year in all different colors and varieties. It is just so very beautiful and he stages the planting so that the color last a long time. This is a beautiful location just to walk around, everyone is welcome to do that. The grounds are open at least 6 days a week. So even if you are not doing portraits you'll enjoy walking around this place.
Also in Boise, Katherine Albertson's park is an ideal location 12 months out of the year for photographing Family and Children Portraits. At this location besides lots of green grass and trees, there are ponds, fountains, lily pads, bridges and more. There are dozens of locations to take family portraits, large and small. There are also lots of fun places to take pictures of the children together as a group and then individually too.
In Eagle my very favorite location is off of Eagle Road near the Boise River. This has a woodsy feel without having to travel far to get there. It's an ideal location for Family portraits, large or small, and with children too. This is also a great place to bring you dogs to join in the family portrait. The children love it here because of the water. They can have fun throwing rocks in the water and having a good time. It's a beautiful location for portrait lighting morning or late afternoon or right before dark.
Also in Eagle on the border of North Meridian is the new Meridian LDS Temple. This location has lots of great places to capture portraits of Families and Children and Couples or Seniors, young or older. There are water ponds and fountains here too. We photographed there a couple of times around Christmas in the snow and it was lovely.
Of course there are lots of great locations in Nampa, Kuna and Mountain Home too. What's your favorite location you would like to have your family portrait captured?
